Why I Loved The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods
To say I LOVED The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods would be an understatement! What’s to love?
- set in Ireland 🇮🇪 (a place I visited last summer) featuring Trinity College, Temple Bar District and cozy brick townhouses
- three intertwining stories of Opaline, the courageous bookseller from the 1920’s, Henry , the modern day scholar researching her, Martha, the girl hoping to escape her abusive past as well as the mysterious Madame Bowden… who is she and what is her story?
- house as a character. Where is Opaline’s old bookshop? Why does Martha’s room start growing trees?
- nod to Emily Brontë (she is having her culturally moment right now)
- a touch (more like a big spoonful really) of magic 🪄
So if you like all of these elements, you will also love this book!
